Why Choose Us?

Support

Becoming a foster carer is a life-changing experience. We appreciate it’s a big decision to make and we are here to provide support with a dedicated team of professionals that provide the following services:

Supervising Social Workers

Our team of experienced supervising social workers provide 24/7 support to our carers. Our carer/social worker ratio is significantly lower than other fostering agencies, enabling social workers to devote more time to each carer. Our supervising social workers assist carers on a day-to-day basis and liaise closely with Local Authority social workers responsible for the child, as well as other professionals.  24 hour support; 7 days a week, 365 days a year, is provided with an on call social worker to support you - evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Placement support workers

Our placement support workers are available to offer practical help, whether it’s accompanying children and carers to appointments, providing assistance with transport or taking young people out for activities and one-to-one work.

Foster Care Allowance

Ideal Fostering payments to our carers are amongst the most rewarding in the industry,  we recognise the great value that they bring to our service making it a financially strong career choice. We have foster carers who are proud to say they have paid off their mortgage. As a foster carer you will receive a competitive fee, paid monthly directly into your bank account. In addition to the normal foster caring fees, Ideal fostering also pay out other allowances such as: Birthday allowance, Festival Allowance, Holiday Allowance, Furniture allowance and Loyalty and incentive bonuses.  Whilst the exact amount of fostering payments offered to foster carers varies depending on the type of placement, age of the child and the child’s individual needs; whatever the circumstances, the Ideal Fostering payments to our carers are amongst the best.

Training

At Ideal Fostering we believe the high quality training and support we provide plays a key role in enabling our carers to do an exceptional job which helps to create the best opportunities for children and young people.

We are committed to providing carers with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills through a comprehensive, free programme as well as access to regular support groups.

Our Training Programme Includes ...

Pre-Approval Training

All prospective Foster Carers are provided with three days of Pre-Approval training, prior to assessment. This program covers every aspect of the role of a Foster Carer, and is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to assist them in their role as Foster Carers.

Comprehensive Pre-Placement Training

A number of pre approval workshops covering a range of topics are provided to our carers. These courses include First Aid training and Managing Challenging Behaviour which aim to prepare you for when a child is placed...

So once you go to Panel for approval, you are ready to foster!

Ofsted

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills. It is the government’s regulatory body which inspects and regulates our agency. We were recently inspected and are proud of our performance. Some of the comments we received from Ofsted ...
